Welcome to Biztown (www.biztown.co.za), operated by JSquared Marketing (Pty) Ltd T/A Biztown (“Biztown”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using Biztown, you agree to comply with these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website.

1. Overview

Biztown is a South African online business directory that allows users and businesses to:

  • Create accounts,

  • Add and manage business listings, and

  • Browse or save listings.

Biztown reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue any part of the website or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Eligibility and Account Creation

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account or submit a business listing.

  • You are responsible for keeping your account details (including your password) secure.

  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and listing submission.

  • Biztown may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or appear fraudulent.

3. Business Listings

3.1 Submission and Approval

Businesses may submit listings through the website. All listings are subject to review and approval before publication.

We reserve the right to approve, reject, edit, or remove any listing at our discretion.

3.2 Business Responsibility

Each business is solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of the information provided in its listing.

By submitting a listing, you confirm that:

  • You have the authority to represent the business.

  • Your listing complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Any photos, logos, or descriptions do not infringe the rights of others (including copyright or trademarks).

3.3 Editing or Deleting Listings

Businesses can log in to edit or delete their listings at any time. Deleted listings may remain in backup copies or archives for a limited period.

4. Fees and Payments

  • Business listings may be subject to fees in the future. Currently, listing services are free of charge while we grow the platform.

  • When paid listings are introduced, payments will be processed securely through PayFast.io.

  • All payments are final and non-refundable, unless required by law.

  • Biztown may modify pricing or introduce new services at any time, with notice on the website.

5. Use of Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of any content (text, images, or other media) that you submit to Biztown.

However, by posting content, you grant Biztown a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to:

  • Display your content on www.biztown.co.za and related pages,

  • Feature or share your listing on social media, newsletters, or promotional materials, and

  • Use it for the operation, marketing, or improvement of the platform.

5.2 User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.

  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the website.

  • Use Biztown for unlawful purposes or spamming.

  • Collect data from other users without consent.

Biztown may remove content or suspend users for any breach of these rules.

6. Reviews and User Content

If Biztown enables reviews or comments, users are responsible for their submissions.

We do not verify or endorse user reviews and are not liable for their accuracy or opinions expressed.

We may moderate or remove reviews that violate our content standards, at our discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, layout, logos, and software on the Biztown website are owned by or licensed to JSquared Marketing (Pty) Ltd T/A Biztown.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any material without prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  • Biztown provides directory listings for informational purposes only.

  • We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the quality, accuracy, or reliability of any business or service listed.

  • Any dealings between users and businesses listed on the website are entirely at your own risk.

  • Biztown shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or claims arising from your use of the website, including interactions with listed businesses.

The website and its services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

9. Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal information.

All data collected is handled according to our Privacy Policy and in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

10. Suspension and Termination

Biztown reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and remove listings if:

  • You violate these Terms,

  • You provide false or misleading information, or

  • We deem it necessary for legal, operational, or security reasons.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
