Engineering & Projects Manager - Offshore Engineering and Operations

Minimum Qualifications and/or experience: 
Qualifications Candidates are expected to be Engineering Degree qualified, preferably Chartered, with relevant experience including engineering support and management of green field and brown-field projects in the oil industry. Previous experience with offshore contractors in the Gulf region is a preference. Very good English written and verbal communication skills. Initial responsibilities will be to lead, establishment of the Offshore Engineering group to support bids and subsequently execute projects. Responsible for management of a multi-discipline Engineering Group providing Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, Process Engineering and Drawing Office support to production requirements while also undertaking the design and management of major brown-field modification and greenfield projects. Roles and Responsibilities • Directly promote, by example and leadership, sound HSEQ management practices and a desire for safety of personnel and protection of the environment in all activities associated with the Engineering and Projects Group. • Act as a focal point for senior management on Facilities Engineering support and Project / Modification delivery activities. • Ensure that the deliveries of Facilities Engineering support and Projects are executed in a diligent, efficient and safe manner in pursuance of Company’s Technical, Management and HSEQ processes • Personally demonstrate familiarity and knowledge of necessary safety practices, design criteria and technical standards associated with the offshore oil & gas industry to ensure implementation of at least “good oilfield practice” during delivery of Groups work-scopes • Development and Management of suitable commercial arrangements / contracts and relationships with inter-company and third-party service providers to ensure an acceptable standard of service is achieved to support the Group’s activities. • Preparation and management of Facilities Engineering and Projects budgets to ensure compliance and control. • Working with the Group’s Team Leaders/Supervisors, delegation of engineering support, projects and modifications responsibilities and tasks having assured the competence of the personnel and procedures to deliver compliance with requirements. • Monitor all aspects of the planning and execution of Facilities Engineering and Projects work to ensure successful delivery and achievement of nominated KPI’s • Ensure that projects and modifications are assessed, formulated, developed and prioritised into functional scopes of work which can be achieved in a safe, timely, effective, and economical manner • Ensure that the Group’s work programmes and activities are reported and communicated to relevant personnel, at the appropriate level of detail. • Provide assistance and initiative in development of fit-for-purpose and cost-effective solutions • Lead the on-going review and interpretation of Facilities Engineering support resources requirements Assist and demonstrate ability to recognise potential resource deviation problems and introduce prospective solutions • Lead Group-level project portfolio management review meetings to ensure co-ordination between Projects and with other Field activities. • Participate in relevant safety processes and support development of initiatives to ensure the integrity of the groups activities and the drive for “continuous improvement” in performance. • Direct and participate in the recruitment, performance assessment, training, career development and Competent Persons Profile (CPP) aspects of the Group’s employees. • Effectively fulfill Group administration and delegated authority requirements to support the organisation. • Member of the Incident Control Response team to support the company’s capability to deal with emergency situations
